
Det polske værft Remontowa Shipbuilding har skåret den første stålplade, til den første færge i en serie af 7 elektriske søsterfærger til Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited.

These ferries will bring increased capacity and the benefits of clean, fully electric propulsion to island and rural communities.“Work at the shipyard is progressing well, building on our strong working relationship with Remontowa, who have already successfully delivered ferries for the Scottish network. Today’s milestone demonstrates progress in our ambitious plans to renew the fleet and future-proof lifeline services.”

De 7 færger skal når de leveres, chartres ud til Caledonian MacBrayne, hvor de skal indsættes på Clyde og Hebriderne. Den første færge forventes leveret i 2027.
