Det finske værft Rauma Marine Constructions (RMC), har endnu en gang måtte udskyde leveringen af AURORA BOTNIA til Wasaline (Kvarken Link). Den skulle oprindelig havde været leveret i maj, men det blev i april måned, ændret til midten af juni, årsagen var Covid-19 situationen, som havde påvirket værftet hårdt i løbet af vinteren.
Da vi kom til midten af juni, blev leveringen så udskudt til midten af juli, som i midten juli, blev ændret til slutningen af juli. Nu har de så ændret tidspunktet til slutningen af august, dog med en lille mulighed for at det allerede kan ske i uge 32, hvis alt går efter planen.

We work long hours and weekends on the ship and monitor the progress of the work on a daily basis. At the same time, however, we must also ensure that the work can be done with a restricted number of people, complying the corona-safe limit.”

AURORA BOTNIA var i starten af juni på dets første prøvesejlads som forløb godt. Her blev der sejlet på diesel. Man har så siden arbejdet på at installere LNG delen, og teste den del. Da det er første gang det sker på værftet, har det taget længere tid end beregnet, pga. de restriktioner som Covid-19 sætter.
